A Journey of Hope & Purpose

At the heart of HopeBegins is a story of faith, resilience, and partnership—both in business and in life. The founders, Joanna Hope and Genesis Alegata, are more than just visionary leaders; they are real-life partners on a mission to bring hope and emotional healing to a world that often feels overwhelmed by anxiety and purposelessness.

Joanna, who battled with finding purpose during difficult seasons of life, found her strength through her Christian faith and the support of close mentors. Her journey was not easy, but through it all, she discovered that there was always hope, even in the darkest moments. Joanna longed to provide others with the same hope she found, believing that every person, no matter how lost, could find a path forward.

Genesis, with a background in AI and technology, had a vision to harness the power of artificial intelligence to support people during their emotional recovery journey. He saw technology as a tool to make meaningful change, and together with Joanna’s passion for faith-based coaching, HopeBegins was born—a platform dedicated to helping people rediscover hope and purpose through personalized, faith-driven coaching supported by AI.

As they prepare to embark on the next chapter of their journey together as husband and wife on February 1, 2025, their shared mission grows even stronger. Joanna and Genesis are more than just business partners—they are partners in life, ministry, and mission, committed to providing a lifeline for those in need of hope.

Why HopeBegins Began

In today's fast-paced and ever-connected world, millions of people are struggling with anxiety, depression, and feelings of purposelessness. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 1 in 8 people globally (about 970 million) suffer from some form of mental health issue, with anxiety and depression being the most common disorders.

Moreover, research from Philippine-based organizations such as Mental Health First reveals that individuals struggling with emotional health often face the following barriers

  • Long waiting times for mental health services, particularly in public health facilities.

  • High costs associated with private therapy and counseling sessions, with many unable to afford them.

  • A lack of ongoing support between professional sessions, leaving individuals without guidance during critical moments.

These challenges highlight a pressing need for a more comprehensive, accessible, and personalized approach that not only focuses on emotional recovery but also integrates purpose and faith-based resilience into the healing journey.

In the Philippines, where 92.5% of the population identifies as Christian, a faith-based, affordable solution has the potential to resonate deeply with those struggling to find hope and meaning amidst mental health challenges.
